Product Overview
The Rising Stem Resilient Seated Gate Valve provides leak-tight isolation for pressurized water, wastewater, and utility pipelines. It features an external threaded stem that moves vertically with the handwheel, offering clear, physical visual confirmation of the valve position from a distance.
Equipped with an elastomer-encapsulated wedge, the valve achieves a bubble-tight, zero-leakage seal against the smooth interior body. Its full-bore design minimizes pressure drop and turbulence, making it a low-maintenance solution for main supply lines, pump stations, and industrial distribution networks.
Working Principle
A gate valve controls fluid flow by raising or lowering a wedge across the flow channel.
When opened, the stem travels upward through the bonnet, lifting the wedge completely out of the pipe bore to allow unobstructed flow. When closed, the stem pushes the elastomeric wedge into the body seating area, compressing the resilient seal to stop fluid movement entirely.
Open State: Wedge fully retracted; full-port flow with minimal friction.
Travel State: Stem moves vertically through the bonnet to indicate position.
Closed State: Elastomer wedge compresses against the body for positive shut-off.
Key Features of Rising Stem Resilient Seated Gate Valve
Visual Position Indication
The external stem moves vertically during operation, allowing immediate visual verification without position sensors.
Zero-Leakage Seating
The rubber-encapsulated wedge forms a bidirectional, bubble-tight seal even in pipelines carrying fine particles.
Full-Bore Design
The unobstructed internal bore reduces pressure loss and prevents sediment accumulation inside the valve.
Bidirectional Isolation
Seals effectively against flow coming from either direction, simplifying installation in complex piping layouts.
Universal Flanged Ends
Flange dimensions comply with international piping standards for quick integration into existing systems.
Manual Actuation
The ergonomic handwheel offers reliable manual operation without requiring external power.
Custom Engineering
Configurations can be customized by pressure rating, flange drilling, body material, and protective coatings.

FAQ
Q: How does a rising stem valve differ from a non-rising stem valve?
A: A rising stem valve moves upward outside the body, providing clear visual position indication, whereas a non-rising stem valve rotates inside the body and requires less vertical space.
Q: Which media are suitable for resilient seated gate valves?
A: They are primarily used for clean water, raw water, and wastewater. EPDM is standard for water applications, while NBR is recommended for media containing oils or chemicals.
Q: Can this valve be used for flow throttling?
A: No. Gate valves should be used only in fully open or fully closed positions. Throttling causes seat erosion and rapid wear on the elastomeric wedge.
Q: What information is needed for a fast quotation?
A: Provide the nominal size, pressure class, fluid medium, operating temperature, flange standard, material preferences, and destination.
Q: Can other valve types be included in the same shipment?
A: Yes. Orders can combine gate valves with butterfly, globe, check, and ball valves, as well as strainers, expansion joints, and pipe repair clamps.
