The large stainless steel ball valve has a complex structure, uneven wall thickness, isolated hot spots, and local shrinkage during casting. With the help of the numerical simulation software ProCAST, the structure of the pouring system was redesigned, and it adopts a special method to introduce cast chilled iron so that the casting can be solidified sequentially from bottom to top, according to the analysis of the numerical simulation process. As a result, the isolated hot joint of the ball valve casting has been successfully eliminated, which has improved the qualified rate of products at the lowest cost.
